There are a lot of bloggers that look for the “sweet stuff” when blog hopping and recipe hunting. I guess there are a lot more people out there with a sweet tooth than a savory tooth. However, when I saw this picture and the title to this post, Rhonda, The Kitchen Witch, had me at “salsa”. Savory foods say “home” even more than sweets, to my way of thinking. I mean, chips and salsa are their own food group. But, now that I see these fritters, hmmmmm . . . those chips may have just been replaced. Rhonda’s SRC assignment this month was Cooking in Stilettos by Aly. Can you imagine the two of them in the same kitchen? The Kitchen Witch and Cooking in Stilettos. Wow, a lot of magic and I would need it if I stood in my kitchen in stilettos! Rhonda says . . .
“It’s no surprise that I was drawn to Aly’s Bampa’s (her grandpa’s) recipes. I giggled when I read the recipe for Bampa’s Corn Firtters, one of the ingredients was Bisquick and not too long ago I posted on how Bisquick was a staple in our house while growing up. I felt a connection with Bampa right away and knew that this was the recipe for me.”
