How It Works

The Secret Recipe ClubHi : ) I’m April, the owner and writer of The Secret Recipe Club since April 2012. The club was born in April of 2011 from an idea it’s founder Amanda thought would be a fun way to make a recipe from a friend’s blog and that friend could do the same. But instead of just the two of them, including several others would be even more fun. Plus, it would also help give added exposure to their food blogs. After running the club for one year, she graciously passed it on to me so she could pursue other adventures.

Their first month yielded 19 participants. The concept is simple really. Each month you are “assigned” a participating food blogger to make a recipe from. It’s a secret, so don’t tell them you are making something from their blog!

You simply choose any recipe from the blog you are assigned, make or bake it, and blog about it on the date specified. In your post you will link back to the blog you were assigned. There should be two links to said blogger within your post; one to the recipe post of the recipe you chose and one to their homepage. As you normally would, be sure to list any comments about the recipe and list any changes or adaptations that you made. There will be a piece of code you will need to paste into your post that will display the recipe blog hop links. Only Secret Recipe Club member posts will be displayed in the blog hop. Everyone participating will post their recipe on the same designated date. You will receive a new secret blog each month. Repeats will depend on how many bloggers participate.
