Most Popular: Vanilla Bean Cupcakes with Raspberry Buttercream

Sometimes it is the simple things in life that are most valued. A walk on the beach, watching a butterfly flit through the air, enjoying the amazement of a child with a big beautiful balloon. And then there are cupcakes. This simple cupcake recipe steals my heart. It is the depth of the simplicity that undoubtedly makes me drool. A Dusting of Sugar by Rebecca has turned this simple vanilla cupcake with frosting into simply delightful and irresistible treat. Her SRC assignment this month was Jo-Anna’s blog, A Pretty Life in the Suburbs. Jo-Anna also understands that simple ingredients are elegant and not to be scorned, but to be celebrated. Neither of these are to be missed! Rebecca says . . .
“This is perhaps the best vanilla cake recipe I have found thus far. It’s not dense and overly crumbly. Perhaps it has something to do with the procedure, which I haven’t seen before (adding chunks of butter to the dry mixture instead of creaming it with the sugar). Instead of the cherry buttercream she made, I did raspberry.”
