Welcome to Super Bowl Week here at The Secret Recipe Club! The Super Bowl is the perfect excuse to invite some friends over and throw a party. And of course any kind of game day party is going to need food! So, since our holiday break isn’t over until the 20th, and the Super Bowl is just 3 weeks away, we thought it would be fun to highlight some of the delicious appetizers that have appeared on here over the last year. These are the ones that while they weren’t our #1 favorites of 2013, they came in at a very close second. Over the next six days I’ll be highlighting a yummy appetizer that will help feed the hungry crowd at your party, and just may cause your guests to rave more about the food then the game!
First up is Maple Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Smokies from Angela’s Kitchen.
You always see a version or two of these tasty little bites at all of the tailgate and holiday parties. This version would be hard to resist with maple syrup, brown sugar, and bacon blanketing the smokies. Angela had this to say about her recipe…
“Really, you shouldn’t make these. Honest, or you might grab them and lock yourself into a room with them all alone. And eat them all. By yourself”.
